October 16th, 2006 - NorthStone Country Club Shotgun start is at 12:30 p.m. Driving Range and registration open at 10:30. Be sure to join us in this exciting event! Play golf at an awesome course; enjoy lunch and a gourmet buffet featuring carved Rib Eye, Salmon & Herb chicken while enjoying the sounds of a Christian recording artist; play in the $250 putting contest; network with other local business people and did we mention play golf while helping a great cause?!?!? This event will be a Captain's Choice 4-man Scramble. Stewards of the Game has a mission to teach the children of our community important life lessons through sports, while teaching them the fundamentals of the game in a safe, loving environment, all the while promoting the values that they will need to achieve their goals. The proceeds from the tournament will be used to endow the $10,000 Christian Character College Scholarship that is awarded annually to a senior in our area. Monies will also go toward Participation Scholarships which enable children from under-resourced families to participate in our sports programs. If you are interested in sponsoring this event, there are several different opportunities for your business to be showcased in support of the golf tournament. As a 501(c)(3) recognized non-profit organization all sponsorships should be tax deductible. Click on the Sponsorship Levels link to see how you can get involved. A silent and live auction complete the day of fun. An AWESOME Yamaha waverunner which is being provided by Westport Marina of Lake Norman and a One-year membership at Northstone Country Club, are just a few of the great prizes you can bid on! Stewards of the Game is also hosting its first ever Junior Putting Contest so that our children will have a chance to participate in raising money for bicycle helmets for those that can't afford them. Half of the net proceeds from the putting contest will be donated to Ernie Irvan's Race2Safety Foundation, an organization that teaches children about bike safety and the importance of wearing bike helmets to prevent Traumatic Brain Injury. The tournament's success depends on YOUR participation! Don't assume someone else is helping. We need volunteers to secure prizes, sponsorships, foursomes and help with the day of the event.
