$600 for a foursome / $150 for an individual and is tax-deductible.
The proceeds benefit the youth sports programs of Stewards of the Game
(a non-profit organization), going towards:
* Scholarships for kids from under-resourced areas to play
Stewards of the Game baseball or basketball
* Facility Enhancements for fields and courts owned by local
towns, churches and businesses so there are enough places for everyone
to play
* Long Range Goals of creating college scholarships for
deserving players and a Stewards of the Game sports complex
This May, Shawn White, the chairperson of our Stewards of the Game
Christian Character College Scholarship Program awarded the first
Stewards of the Game annual $10,000 college scholarship to Jared
Russell who exemplifies the core values of Stewards of the Game...in
the classroom, on the field / court...and throughout the community.
The 2004 Golf Tournament was a key fundraiser in making this
scholarship possible.
Jared Russell is a graduating senior at Southlake Christian Academy.
In the fall he will be attending Appalachian State University. He
plans to major in History and become a professor at a University. His
interest in acting enabled him to learn how to communicate with
people. He is an outgoing young man who is very humble. He grew up is
a small school environment and will now be challenged in moving to a
bigger campus in a non-secular environment. He knows he will have to
exhibit discipline as he embarks on this new chapter in life. He has a
strong spiritual foundation and plans to surround himself with
positive people. Jared is confident, smart, intuitive, respectful, and
realistic and a strong man of God. I truly believe that he is well
aware of the college challenges that are ahead of him. He will succeed
and is the perfect candidate to become our Stewards of the Game
Christian Character Scholarship Awards Winner!
A tax-deductible day on the course for a great cause - it all adds up
to GREAT FUN.
We are limiting the registration to 120 Golfers, so please sign-up
early. Please let me or Frank Walsh know if you are interested in
playing. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or
email.
Thanks,
