Stewards of the Game 10 & Under Challenge Team:  Tournament Winners!!!

The Stewards of the Game 10 and Under Challenge team swept the Piedmont Recreation Association Challenge tournament played April 4-6, 2003.  The team recorded a 4-0 record with wins over teams from Asheville, Marshville, Fort Mill, and Unionville.  The team displayed an awesome grasp of the fundamentals of baseball with incredibly solid defensive play, aggressive base running, timely hitting throughout the batting order and on-target pitching performances in every game.  With a meaningful emphasis on the team element, the players pursued their goals within the framework of team play and supported one another with “heads up” baseball at every position.  The weekend was punctuated with some amazing defensive plays that dramatically impacted the outcome of the games and the reward of “winning as a team” was evident to all who participated and observed.
