Stewards of the Game has been granted the Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth territory for Cornelius, Davidson, Huntersville & Mooresville. We have also been granted a renewable, automatic spot in the nationally renown 12 & Under Cooperstown Dreams Park Weekly Summer Tournaments held in Cooperstown, NY based on our participation in 2001.

League Play:
Regular season games are played amongst our Stewards of the Game teams, in addition to games against other Cal Ripken leagues in the Charlotte area. Our home games will be played on various, local athletic fields. Naturally, there will be some amount of travel involved for “away” games.
Challenge Play
To meet the needs of more advanced players, regular season play will be supplemented by participation of our “Challenge” teams in area tournaments during the season. Challenge teams will be formed early in the season to afford these players the opportunity to further develop their skills against stiffer competition through participation in the CCBL and various Challenge / USSSA / AAU tournaments in the area. Post-Season Play:
Our All-Star teams will participate in the Cal Ripken Post-Season Area Tournament, with the opportunity to advance to State, Regional and National levels of play.
Each year, assuming there is interest, Stewards of the Game will coordinate a trip to Cooperstown, NY for our 12 & Under All-Star team to participate in a one-week Summer Camp/Tournament in July. Families are welcome to attend and make it a memorable vacation for all. Our league coaches will chaperone & coach the team during this week. Our team will play no less than 7 tournament games against various teams across the country. Please log on to www.cooperstowndreamspark.com for more information. You won’t want to miss this!
Participation in Cooperstown Dreams Park tournament is open to all teams across the country on a first-come/first-serve basis…and is not contingent upon the team’s record in post season play. (Approx. cost per player: $750...not including travel) In order to reinforce life lessons such as teamwork and hard work, our All-Star team will work together to earn a portion of their entry fees to defray travel costs and help fund any need-based scholarships for their teammates.

Playing Up/Down
As a general rule, Stewards of the Game does not allow players to "play-up" or “play down” in an age division above or below their actual age. The only exception to “playing up” will be those rare instances where a player's skill level is so advanced that they would clearly dominate the game at their age level or put their peers in harm's way on the field. The only exception for “playing down” will be instances where there is a high probability of a player being severely injured or embarrassed if they were to play with kids their own age.
Any exception to this rule must be approved by the Age Level Coordinator (ALC) for their age division, the ALC for the age division they wish to play in and the Director of Baseball for Stewards of the Game.
