We Need Your Help! Stewards of the Game is
a certified 501(c)3 non-profit organization that relies solely on volunteers to provide
youth sports programs to youngsters in the area. We are growing
fast. If we are to serve all the kids that come our way, we
must have a strong and resourceful volunteer base.
Outlined below is a description of the Volunteer Teams
that we have formed to carry-out the many responsibilities associated with
running a first-rate youth sports organization. We have also listed the name and phone number
of the Team Leads. Please call today and volunteer to serve
on one of these teams.
Stewards of the Game: Multi-Sport Volunteer Teams
Communications - Team Lead: Bob Gordon

Craft / update key Stewards of the Game correspondence to ensure we consistently communicate the Stewards of the Game philosophy and brand to players, coaches, and family members…as well as the entire community (I.e. Press releases, newsletters, registration flyers, coaching tools, etc.)
Fundraising
- Team Lead: Frank Walsh (704.875.7886)
Develop and execute multi-dimensional fundraising strategy,
including Corporate Sponsorship Program, Special Fundraising Events (i.e. Golf Tournament, Dinners, etc), Retail Discount Program and
other community related donations. The key objectives in our
fundraising efforts are to fund league scholarships for under-privileged kids, endow future college scholarships, partner with churches, schools and towns on facility
enhancements and provide seed money for future capital campaign for Stewards of the Game facility.
Long-Range
Facility Planning - Team Lead: Mike Jacobs (704.662.8413)
Identify alternative fields and gyms necessary to meet the exponential growth needs of
Stewards of the Game baseball and basketball programs. Work closely with local churches and schools to develop partnership arrangements for
Stewards of the Game usage of existing & future facilities. Research and identify possible land acquisition & development opportunities for ultimate construction of
Stewards of the Game facility. Due to limited field and court time,
we have already had to turn kids away from both our baseball and
basketball programs. Of course, we’d prefer to never turn away a
youngster who wants to be part of Stewards of the Game.
Outreach -
Team Lead: Teresa Sharp (704.947.5657)
Develop and execute a strategy for proactively identifying under-privileged kids in the community that have an interest in participating in youth sports and getting them registered to play in
Stewards of the Game baseball and basketball programs. In addition, coordinate all
Stewards of the Game community outreach initiatives (i.e. Food Drive, Adopt-a-Family Program, etc.) to harness the passion of our
Stewards of the Game families and engage them in service opportunities throughout our communities.
